Hey Parents and Families!!

OMG! Can you believe the first five months of 2021 is finally over! We made it... and I have to say it wasn’t half bad! Normally, my January months of each new year never pan out the way I want them to and I always want to “re-do” my subscription to the new year. If January doesn't pan out right.. then you know it's typically downhill for the rest of the year. It’s like I set these goals, create my vision boards, and identify a plan for my life...and there is always SOMETHING that interrupts my progress.

“Can you relate?”

The last few years of my life since 1999... the Adulting Chapters of my book have definitely been a ‘Chaotic Mess’; I have been through the battles, the wars, the rain, the sun, the rainbows, and the storm all at the same damn time; its been an ‘Emotional RollerCoaster’ that has had me feeling nauseous, sick to my stomach, and just plain sick and tired of being sick tired! Girl... I am ready to get off this ride!! And it didn’t help matters that I am going through all of my shit during a pandemic...... but it was through a pandemic that caused me to do this............

I can’t believe that I am actually starting a school (and a blog chronicles of the journey) ... WOW! I have been wanting to start a school for as long as I can remember. Since I was 5 years old, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and a principal. I loved reading and learning new things, and then sharing what I have learned with others. I allowed my feelings, emotions, and experiences to get in the way of my hopes and dreams for quite some time. I just didn't know how and where to begin.

In addition to wanting to be a teacher and open my own school; I have always wanted to start a blog .... but again, I didn't know where to begin! It is so crazy because I am a natural-born writer, writing comes easy and effortless to me but each time I sat down at my computer to write (or should I say type)... I didn’t know what to say ... how to say it... or how to start... or where to begin. I would read different blogs from other women to gain ideas and inspiration, scroll Pinterest and Tumblr but I just couldn’t seem to get the correct words that I wanted to say out on the paper. I have so much lurking in this brain of mine that is just bursting to come out.

It wasn’t until most recently as I was working through my homework in my group coaching program that something Coach PuPose said during our LWS Coaching Assignment sessions resonated with me...

“The Time is Now!”, ” My Greater is Now!”.. “It’s time to get off the nail, Stop living and playing small... it’s time to “Play Big”. “Thanks, Coach!!

For as long as I can remember ... going all the way back to when I was five years old, I have always ‘played small’; I have always limited my future success and allowed LIFE to dictate my future. I have allowed SELF to get in my way...

At the age of 39 years old, I have gone through the challenges, trials, tribulations, the struggles of a single mom, and it's about time to share my 18 + years of educational experiences with the world; and begin to 'Inspire, Empower, and Educate" our young people.

Inside the Teacher's Lounge

Inside the Teacher's Lounge...... is an extension of Let's TEACH Academy, an affordable, private K-8 school for African American families who desires a strong & rich African American, Christ-Centered academic foundation. We offer hands-on teaching, learning, and tutoring assistance at the students’ level, as well as parent educational enrichment classes that will prepare, educate, and unlock academic success and careers in science, technology, engineering, & math.

The purpose of Inside the Teacher's Lounge is an online community and forum for parents and families to gain educational and academic 'keys' (tools, strategies, tips, parent education, and more) from an experienced teacher that will help navigate learning at home and building the home, school, community connection.
